Le véritable nom de Edward Maya est Edward Marian Ilie.
Né le 29 juin 1986 à Bucarest en Roumanie, Edward Maya est un artiste musicien roumain de Latin house. Il s’est fait connaitre grâce à son tube Stereo Love en 2009.
À 19 ans, il composa une chanson avec Edward Carcota pour l’Eurovision, qui arriva en quatrième place.
En 2009, son tube Stereo Love, sa première chanson dont il est à la fois le producteur et l’interprète (avec Vika Jigulina), rencontre le succès et l’entraîne en concert dans le monde entier.
Stereo Love reste N°1 su Top50 durant 4 semaines en janvier 2010
